SUPPORTING SCHOOL READINESS DOMAINS IN STORYTIMES:

Using Intentionality and Interactivity As We Joyfully Engage the Whole Child

COMING JANUARY 2020

Duration

Full day (6 content hours, 7.5 hours including lunch/breaks)

Description

Storytimes not only support early literacy but all the school readiness domains: social and emotional development, approaches to learning, physical development, cognitive development, and language and literacy. Using Ohio’s early learning standards as a basis for intentionality, participants will use the items they share in storytimes to acknowledge how they already support school readiness, and to build on what they are already doing. Their intentionality gives them the basis to offer early learning tips to parents and caregivers, and to articulate the library’s role in helping all children be ready for school.

Participant Limit: 50
